Traumhafter Blick. Wunderschönes altes Haus, mit viel Liebe restauriert.

La parfaite infrastructure de la maison nous a comblé. Vue exceptionnelle, confort général, le spa et la piscine, tout était parfait. Très bel accueil avec beaucoup de disponibilité et le plaisir de partager. Apéritif au frais à l’arrivée. Base d’épices et de petit nécéssaire très apprécié.

Perfect!
We were met by the owner on arrival, who ran through all we needed to know to enjoy our stay. The owner also popped in politely and discretely a few times to make sure we were OK, water the gardens, attend to the pool and kindly brought some fresh home produce for us to enjoy. The villa is perfect and I would highly recommend it for 8+ guests. The layout is interesting and not easily determined from the pictures and English description, however it is easily understood in person and does not dissappoint. The location is perfect with magnificent views to the coast, sea and nearby islands. Makarska is cosmopolitan with a huge range of the restarants and other entertainment. We found the other visitors a bit too glamorous and dressy, especially near the expensive boats in the harbour, so tended to go to the resorts North and South of Makarska which were extremely nice, unpretentious and half the cost. We were not allowed to take up residence and had to leave at the end of our booking!

The villa is a bit of a palace. Perched on top of a mountain village, it spikes out of the rocks offering unparalleled views of the mountain and sea. It has so many different floors, rooms, seating areas, and little gardens, it's impossible to enjoy it all in a few short days. The family that owns it owns other houses, oil vines, and other businesses around the village, which makes it extra friendly and local if you have any needs. The location, though fine for us, might be awkward for some. It's at the top of a near vertical, winding mountain road that plunges over the edge. My poor mother had to duck her head into her lap every time we went to the shops or the beach. I, however, loved it. But at night, even I was a little nervous. The main sitting room isn't overly cosy. It could use some modernising. But we had such good weather that we spent the entirety of our trip outside. Which was perfect.
